As the result of the attempted theft of our Johnson 150hp Fastrike outboard, an the resultant damage, we are looking to replace it.

So far we have considered the 150hp Optimax, the 130hp 4 stroke honda and the 150hp V6 FICHT Evinrude.

Can anyone offer any advice based on their own experiences taking account of Purchase price, Running costs(inc. fuel consumption)and Servicing/Parts.

Re: Help needed - Which Outboard to choose

Not meaning to pass the buck, but this type question has been asked many times here. You should get some very good reading if you to a "search" on this forum on the word "which". I'm sure some of the bigger motor guys will probably respond, but you did not give us much to go on. Like what type of boat, where you will be using it, etc.

I would also to to each of the motor web sites that you are interested in, and then you can see the real facts too.

The boat is a 6.25 metre RIB, and is used exclusively in the sea. Thanks for the tip on searching the forum archives.
