Help Needed with Ding in Hull

I noticed the following ding on the hull of my deck boat last weekend. Not sure how I got it or when. I'm not sure how well it can be seen in this picture, but need input on whether this is something I need to repair, and, if so, how.

Ayuh,.... 1st thing you Need to do is Resize that picture..

480x640 works pretty good....

I couldn't figure out how to resize at the upload site I was using, but think this should do the trick.

Marine tex putty (white) will work. I removed that huge photo
