I was hoping someone had the PDF copy of the the OMC Stern Drive 1964-1986 that was previously posted in the manuals sticky they could send me. My copy I had previously downloaded got deleted and the links on 4drive are now dead. Im 2 weeks from getting my 77 Carver back into the water and took the next 3 days off to work on putting everything back together. If anyone could be kind enough to help, it would be greatly appreciated!

Howdy,

Welcome aboard!

I am surprised someone didn't jump right in there with a suggested place to get it. I don't have it either but if I had a boat with that year model engine and drive I would just spend the price for a manual (we're only talking the equivalent price of about 15-20 gallons of gas!!)

1977 OMC Sterndrive Factory Manuals

Good luck,

Rick

Thanks for the response! I did a little research and ordered both the Seloc and Clymers manuals from Amazon for $6 each. It's just about finished!

One for each knee?

Good luck with that. At least they were only $6 each.

Yeah, I was suggesting the OEM manuals. The one worse than Seloc is Clymer.

But both are suitable for starting a wood stove.

I see quite a few of you are hating on the Seloc/Clymers manuals. I can say in my own experience that both were more than sufficient for what I needed them for. Wiring diagrams, torque specs, and specific procedures. I rebuilt the entire stern drive (351 windsor engine, intermediate, upper and lower units) using the pdf download and those 2 manuals. Ive been working on Porsche/BMW/Audi for 30 years. In comparison, the Bentley/factory manuals are nice, but I can more than get it done with the chiltons. Its a simple American pushrod V8 and electromechanical drive unit using hardware i can get at lowes for pete's sake! Havent seen the factory omc manual but I assume its a similar difference. The 50 bucks I saved is going into the gas tank!

Just trying to help. I had the Seloc manual for my Cobra setup and I found multiple things wrong or missing in the Seloc manual. I got an OEM manual for like 50 or 60 bucks and its just a really higher quality manual. There is tons more info on most every component vs the Seloc one.

One thing you mess up or don't do because of the Seloc manual and you'll be out 100 gallons of gas.
