Help on swapping carbs.

Mercruiser 4.3LX 4bbl. carb swap to 5.7L 2bbl.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If I take the 4bbl. carb off of my 1994 4.3LX will it work on my 1996 5.7L. in place of my 2bbl. carb. Would it be worth the time and effort and would I see any great increase in hp? Will this change my W.O.T. specs, right now 4200-4600?
I am also new to this forum, so hopefully this all turns out o.k.

Ayuh,....

Of course, You'll need a New Intake Manifold for the 350 1st,...
Then it'll work, probably with some Needle,+/ or Jet changes....
It should be good for 15hp to 30hp.....WOT would be 4800rpms....

I believe the hp rating is @ 210 for the 5.7L, the 5.7LX @ 260 talks about a knock sensor, is this necessary for this swap? Also do you think the fuel consumption would be more or less or the same?
