I have a 4.3 1990 mercruiser and just replaced the head gaskets and all done but timing i disturbered the piston so i put number one at TDC and put the roter inline with number one wire on cap .. My experiance it should start Can anyone tell me if im doing anything wrong on that end but i think it should start and time it from there..Any help would be graet thanks

Ayuh,... My WAGuess is,.. You're off by 180?....
Did you verify TDC at the valves,..??
If Not,.. Rotate the crank 360?,+ reset the distributer,... Then it'll Light....

If you are truly at TDC on the compression stroke then yes it should be able to start., As mentioned above though, if you are one revolution off, then the plugs are firing on the exhaust stroke, so no it will not run.

Ayuh,... She's Starving for Fuel,...
Start with the fuel filters, they're easy,....Inspect their Contents for water, or other Crap...

I don't know if iboats has email notifications or not,...
You should find it in your User Control Panel... portside of the Blue band, near the top of every page...;)
