i have a mercruiser 190.the engine runs well for about 10 minutes then it skips and want idle.you can check the oil before you crank it and it will be right where it is supposed to be on the dip stick.after the 10 minutes it will be to the top of the stick and look milkey white like water in the oil.let it set for a couple of hours and check it and its back right on the dip stick again.after the 10 minutes of running it blows the oil out of the breather like what i call blow back.any ideas what it is or what i can do to fix it.thanks in advance for your help on this matter.i read on another thread that no car motor would fit.is this true?thanks again.

Re: help please

Sounds like there is definetly water in there. The lever is going up and down most likely due to the water foaming in the oil. First time out this year? Have you changed the oil to see if the problem continues?

Re: help please

Could be condensation from sitting through the winter. Change the oil, keep a very close eye on it, see if it clears up before you go any further.

Castings and most parts are the same, except Brass freeze plugs in Marine, often the camshaft is different. ONLY use Marine electrical parts! Risk of spark in contained area!

Re: help please

Sorry, not a merc expert. Don't know. If it doesn't tell you in the manual, ask in another post. Many of the guy's here will be able to help you identify it!

Re: help please

what do you mean by crank? starter would not rotate engine or engine would not run?
