Hi All,
I recently purchased a 1974 Cape Dory 25 that has a Quicksilver Throttle Control hooked up to a 94 Mercury 9.9 hp long shaft.
When I shift into reverse the engine is in forward. Luckily when shifted into forward it goes forward but I can't figure out why it doesn't reverse. It seems like something may be missing from the linkage in the engine but after looking at some diagrams I can't identify the problem.
There is minimal movement in the assembly at the engine when shifted into reverse. I took apart the assembly at the throttle unit and it seems to be OK.
Any help would be appreciated, I have attached a pic of the cable assembly at the engine and a pic of the throttle unit itself.
THANKS,
d
