OK guys, I need help here. I need to replace the water pump impeller. I know I need to remove the power head to to remove the lower unit, but I'm reluctant to do that without the shop manual. I've ordered it from Chapters, but so far, it seems to be back ordered with no delivery date in sight. Does anyone have the shop manual? Can you copy and fax the disassembly instuctions to me? I'm in Canada and I will gladly arrange pay for any long distance charges. my fax no. is: 905-509-3957.
Failing that, if someone can provide some quick guidance via this formum, that would be great!
Much appreciated.

Max

Hi Maxair,
You have absolutely nothing to fear when taking the powerhead off the motor. Remove the 7-8 screws that hold the powerhead in place, undo the fuel line from the fuel pump, disconnect the kill switch wires (if it has one) and pop that bugger off! If it's stubborn in coming unstuck from the gasket, I've taken to laying the motor on the tiller handle side on a heavy blanket - NOT on the shift handle side!!. Lift the powerhead end of the motor up about 8"-10" and drop it. The shock of hitting the ground often breaks it free and the blanket helps prevent any damage to the motor. Nothing to it! If the original gasket is intact, use it as a template to either make a new one out of gasket material or to match it up with one at the dealer.
- Scott
