Help! Rebuilding boat question about drainage

So I'm redoing the transom and floor on my boat (while converting from I/o to outboard). In the destruction of my boats guts under the floor there was a bit of water, now in my redesign plans I would like to consider putting drains from the under the floor area to the bilge. Now I am also thinking about reconstructing 75% of the engine bay but with no dog house, just making it flush with the floor with a small hatch for a small storage area, OR just putting the wood at an angle at that area so I have a large area at the back of the boat that is at the boats lowest point for the bilge pump.

Now my question is...

I'd like to be pointed in the direction if this is possible or even a good idea but because the underfloor area will be sealed off as its own area as with the bilge id like to put a one way valve on each side of the stringers on the rear crossmember for the bilge area floor support (if I'm not making sense I can draw and scan pictures). I'd like water that gets under the floor to be able to escape right away thru a flapper or one way valve but the water that hits the deck to not be able to get under the floor area.

One thought I had this morning is wouldn't I possibly want to not put any valve at all or at least a close able valve like this one...

....so that if I was to run aground and/or other failure of the hull occurred the space under the floor fills with water but only has so much volume to fill and doesn't fully capsize the boat.

Can you post some pictures? Your description is not exactly clear. You need a path for any water that gets below the deck (and it will no matter what else you do) to flow back to the transom and a bilge pump at the transom - however you do it.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Ya want Limber holes, 'n not check valves....

the check valves will plug with crud anyways,... hopefully Open....

Ya got the Right Idea,...
Drain Everything/ Everywhere on-board to the pumpable bilge, the lowest point, sittin' at a natural attitude...

As for a catastrophic hull breach, that's pretty rare, 'n I have doubts that yer plan would work...

I'll move this down to the Restoration forum for ya,....
Lotsa bilge plannin' goes on down there in the drydock...
