I am rebuilding a fuel pump on a 1988 150 horse mercury outboard square fuel pump. In the kit I have new plastic check valves. In the pump I have rubber check valves, do these new plastic ones replace the old rubber ones? <br /><br />The new kit I am using is "a Mercury 21-857005A 1 Diapharam Kit".
