The heads of my engine have already been resurfaced one time .02mm and now they need a second resurfacing.A car mechanic told me to go at a special workshop to cut the gasket head at the appropriiate width whereas my merc-sierra dealer told me that this kind of gasket will have not rings durable to rust and it would be much better to use 18-3876 sierra head gaskets (that are fater than normal )even if i had my heads resurfaced for 3rd time.Of course i don't know now how much the height will go down.
Personally i wanted to buy new heads because the block looks very good but i cant find in my country (Greece) wheras the big weight rises the cost to buy from another country.
I need the expert's suggestions .Thanks in advance

Ayuh,....

I don't know What those Seirra gaskets are,+ I'm not sure I understand This,...
"workshop to cut the gasket head at the appropriiate width"

With Chevy Heads,... Especially the 1s you've got, are only so thick... They're known here as the Light-Weight thin casting heads....
You can only go so far,+ you'll be into the water jackets...
Or they'll Crack...

But anyways,....
Google up some Fel-Pro composite head gaskets for your appropriate vintage of 305,+ you'll be Fine.....
They sell them in Many different thicknesses,+ all but the thinest steel shim gaskets will work just Fine...
Most all of the aftermarket head gaskets now-a-days are Composite, with SSteel fire-rings....
