HELP!!! tilt/trim rebuild

I had a senior moment and when I took the piston aprt on the tilt cylinder I was not paying attention and there is one check valve on one side and two on the other,can anyone tell me which goes down and which goes up.i am sending pix so you know what I am talking about.thanks,tom

I believe, from what I've read that the side with the 2 valves goes inside the cylinder and the side with 1 valve goes facing out. Hopefully one of the pros on here will validate this or tell you otherwise.

the two ball bearings face away from the piston mounting eye.
