Help to ID these parts

1976 mercruiser 233 with MC-1 Sterndrive. These two parts were in a small box of other parts that I am going to put to use (lower shift cable parts). I'm not even sure these are boat-related. Possible related to a gimbal bearing alignment tool? Any help is appreciated. The upper item is steel while the lower feels like aluminium.

I`ll take a guess of the gimbal bearing install tool that goes on the end of the alignment bar?

Did you buy an Alignment tool kit from someplace such as EBay? They do look like part of the following linked EBay kit,

Great. That's got to be it. I will mark those packages accordingly.

That's it. I have one. You have to drill a hole in the alignment bar for the long bolt.
