Hi all,
Today I pulled the stick out and the oil is creamy on the stick. I opend the oil cap and I see creamy oil there also. Since the last time I checked when it was fine and now I ran the boat for an hour at most.
This is 1988 Mercruiser 140, Alpha 1 setup that is in 16ft Galaxy.
I searched all posts to find the answer, found some that say it may be condensation.

What should I do?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Lenny

Hi, Lenny.

You got on the wrong forum. Try the I/O and Inboards Forum.

Could be blown head gasket or cracked block, among other things.

Good luck. :)

Re: HELP!!! Water in oil

You posted your problem in the O/B section, and it sounds like you have an I/O. If your engine is a four stroke (has an oil dip stick), and the ENGINE oil is creamy, you've got a serious to very serious problem. This is a sure sign of water contamination of the oil. The most common causes are (1) a blown head gasket (if you're lucky), or (2) a cracked head or cylinder. A compression test will tell you which side to look at if it's a V-8, but in the absence of an obviously blown gasket, you'll have to have the heads checked at a machine shop.
How is the engine running? Condensation won't usually be enough to cause creamy oil.
