Help WHAT Honda is this??

I picked this motor up about a year ago. Its all good except it has a broken shift rod and the lower unit needs a seal kit and new impeller. The ID Plate is gone so I cant order the parts. Can anyone ID the year or model of this engine so I can get the parts?

I am Pretty sure its a Pre 1997 BF 9.9 but Im not sure which one. I need the designation so I can buy the right lenth shift shaft. This Motor has a 2 part Drive shaft. Total it is 26 3/4 and the upper half is 20 1/2" Looks like a 20" shaft motor to me but what designation is this so I can buy parts?

Can you find a VIN or anything on it? It's a BF100 and was considered a 9.9 or 10hp motor. They made them for several years so anything to help narrow it down would help. Here is a manual on it that might help you reference to find a year.
