We recently acquired this old boat from a friend. Our guess is that it's early 70's, but we have no idea what it is! We have posted four pictures, please take a look at them and see if you have any ideas or guesses...

The pictures are posted at: www.geocities.com/whatkindofboat

THANKS!
John & Mindy

Someone has to know!

Lack of a "properly" formatted Hull ID puts it somewhere before '72. As for the make, I have no clue.

Re: HELP!!! What Kind Of Boat Do We Have??

Unfortunately, the boat is not aluminum, it's all fiberglass...and I don't know if you could tell from the pictures or not but the fiberglass needs ALOT of work. It appears to have had some sort of a 'cabin'. I use the term 'cabin' losely because it also looks like you can climb through the front of the boat into the 'cabin' area, leaving room for maybe a seat on each side where you can look out of the windows, but other than that it would be a small area. It is apparent though, that the steering was up in the area where the second set of windows are, as if it where built up to that level...but not knowing what kind of boat it is, and given that the boat has no insides what so ever, I'm not for certain about anything. Right now when you climb in the boat you're walking on the fiberglass hull...Our goal is to redo/restore it but I do believe we're getting off to a slow start. :(

The boat does have a series of numbers and letters on the transom, which I originally thought would be helpful, but there are not twelve, and from what I've read, after 72 the HIN had to be 12 numbers & letters.???

John and Mindy,

I may have stumbled upon your boat looking for info on one that may be for sale. I think you have a Glasspar Seafair Sedan. The following link will take you to info.:

http://www.classicglasspars.com/sedan/seafair.htm

Best regards,
RCS

My thoughts exactlt, Djohns. A classic Glaspar to work on and restore. John and Mindy have a good challenge, but can be very rewarding/

Great job Kojak!, I mean rschnack. We have had boats in our family for over 50 years and That is the first of those I have ever seen.

Does anybody out there have a 1978ish, Canadian built 18' Campion, not Champion, cuddy cabin? If so, let me know how you like it. I have had one of those for about 10 years or more and I wouldn't trade it for a, a, I can't think of what I would trade it for.
...Bob in Calif...
