Help. What motor is in my Chris Craft?

Trying to figure out what motor is in my boat. It's a V-8 with the distributor in the rear and tilted @ an angle. Has dual side draft carbs. Has FM stamped on various parts. Also has Interceptor no C5L9669 near the intake. Not the original obviously.Trying to post pics.

I have no idea, but if it was a "betting game" my money would be on an old Ford.

It's a Ford Y-block! (272/292/312)

To identify, have a look at the side of the engine and compare the block numbers to the following link.

Block identification number generally on side of block above oil filter for blocks cast at Cleveland. Dearborn block I.D. number near distributor and above generator. Most Dearborn blocks used in trucks. No Dearborn blocks after 1957. There were no special truck blocks. Heavy duty trucks with steel cranks used C1AE or C2AE car blocks. Nearly all Dearborn blocks after 1954 were 272's. Most 292 and 312 blocks are from the Cleveland foundry. www.ford-y-block.com
