Help Winterizing Mercury kiekhaefer 500 50hp

I have an early 60's 50 horse Mercury. The two questions i have are where is the drain plug located for the lower unit and should I use gear oil or lubrication grease?

any old mercury still running strong is well worth the cost of a mercury service manual .to drain the lower unit there is a large drain screw down by the lower unit skeg and a vent screw about 10 inches above open both and old oil will drain. refill from the bottom till new lower unit oil begins to flow out the top. replace screws with NEW gaskets after cleaning out the drain holes
