I just bought a 94 force 70hp, got it mounted on my boat. I took off a good running 96 48 special johnson but boat was under powered. I ordered a new mercury control box and need to get some new control cables. Now my question is I see where the throttle and shift connect in the engine and I see 2 extra threaded parts that look like holders or a place for a braket to mount that I'm guessing is what will hold the cables in place but I can't find a pic or diagram of the actual parts to see what I need. I got a repair cd and it doesn't show it and neither does the online parts schematics. I also need to know is there supposed to be a cover on the carb or not. I'm sure I will need some help and maybe someone knows what I need. I think this must be a parts motor cause the serial number is replaced with VOID and I bought it from a boat recycler outfit so I may need to figure out what serial number series this is for parts orders. The engine is very clean and looks like it has a new tilt trim unit plus they gave me a 30 day run guarantee that it wasn't junk so I'm hopeful but I'm running the new cables and wires on top untill I can test it and make sure, if it don't perform then I'm hunting a bigger johnson or rude. If a picture will help then I can do it to show what is missing.
