it was my dads boat he just passed away an it has set for awhile it quite on im last year anyway its a 79 inline 6 it was nt getting gas so rebuilt fuel pump an it would just turn over so we sprayed gas in the curbs an it started ran find till we shut it off anyway we dumped all old gas out put new in added sea foam took it to the lake would not start till we sprayed gas in curbs ran fine idled fine so we shut it off bye dock:) an it will start if you try as soon shut off but if it sets over 10 to 15 mins you have to spray curbs any ideas would surly app. tks

You might try the choke if it sits and cools off.

Are you sure the carbs are clean? From your description, I suspect that motor sat around for a while with gas in the carbs. This leads to clogged carbs and lean running which is bad.

These inlines like lots of fuel when they are cold. Make sure your choke is working good and don't be afraid to rebuild the carbs.

I will say If your motor has sat for a long time i mean a full year or longer and with out a stabil gas treatment. the carbs are clogged and guncked up. rebuild carbs. Dont be afraid its a small job if you know what to do or a larger job if your unsure. but we can help you. let us know how it is going! good luck
