my boat has an I/O sterndrive, it had two ski hooks in the back, i saw a picture of hooking into both hooks, and using something called a bridle or similar, then connecting the tow rope to that and ready to go, i cant seem to find the bridle thing anywhere and after many internet searches i cant find any help in hooking up and ready to ski    :)

I think Overtons has them, but I also think you will be much happier with a ski pole set up. More money, but helps keep the rope out of the water which is a good thing when towing a tube.

Re: help with a few ski questions

those float/pully things (which as kids we called "frogs" - for no good reason) work fine for occassional use. A good ski pylon is nicer, but I don't like the cheapo removable ones where the pole attaches to a base plate that you attach to the floor of the boat with screws. They take up alot of room in the boat, and I have heard of someone losing a toe when the baseplate gets riped out of the floor (if the plywood starts to get soft).

Brent

I got one of the ropes your talking about at walmart for like 15 bucks.

Not trying to highjack the post but does anyone use the transom tie down loops to drag tubes with? Is this normal?

ya, that's what those rope/cable pulley things are usually clipped to. Those loops mounted on the transom should be mucho strong.

Brent

Re: help with a few ski questions

Why not just get a stainless ski eye and mount it to the center top of your transmon like most boats have new? You said it is an I/O so the motor won't be in the way. try something like this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=26451&item=2477931519&rd=1

I am in no way trying to help the seller but for 10 bucks and a little time and 5200 its a good easy fix and you won't have to buy a new bridle every other year.

Kibbles,
The bridles from Wally world will break. I went through two of them last year till I made my own. Probally easier to make your own. I use this type of system for skiing and tubing with no problems.
