help with boat pulling to the left

OK, i took my first trip in a new boat tonight and it pulls to the left pretty hard. Hard enough that you have to fight the wheel and if you let go it would probably go into a spin.

But it seems completely backwards? Is it right?

Would just the little tab being out of adjustment cause it to pull so hard I get arm pump just holding the wheel? Or do I have another issue? The boat is a 1993 17' bowrider with a 3.0l 4-cylinder and no power steering.

If it pulls to the left, move the tab to the left.

The cruising trim angle can amplify, or somewhat null it too.

Yup the tab can and will cause such an issue.

Im going to set it straight (l) and then make adjustments from there. Unfortunately the next time I have it out the whole family will be on board and they're not going to want me to stop every 2 minutes so I can adjust the thing... I'll just stop once or twice to try and get it better and then just deal with it for the day.

I would leave them on shore until I'm done.After explaining to them what is involved and how much better it will be for them.

maybe I'll get them to the island where we hang out and if its still giving me issues leave them there and go out solo...
