My engine is an 84 Mercruiser 470 with a Rochester 2GC carburetor.

I disassembled the choke and pump rods on the carb. I can reassemble the pump rod but can't remember how the idle speed stop lever, choke rod, and throttle body assembly all go together to operate the choke. My SELOC manual isnt quite sufficient for me to see how it goes together. Does anyone know where any diagram may be found on or offline?

I am sure someone here will be able to tell you. If not, you can head over to http://www.breezeworks.net/cgi-bin/...ics.asp?ForumID=1&PagePosition=1&ThreadPage=1 for the 470 group.

If I was there, I could put it back together. If it helps, the arm comes over the top and the adjustment screw head points to the port of the boat. This is by memory.

I had a 470 for a while and loved the little torquey engine that sipped gas. If you keep the engine up, it'll treat you well.

Ohh, I did the pertronix ignition upgrade on mine and it was one of the best things I did. Also had to do the cam shaft seal speedie fix. Never had any alternator problems.
