Hi guys,

I recently acquired a boat with a 90hp Mariner 2stroke 6 cylinder (inline), 3 carbs. The engine is a 1979 1/2 model, I could find that on the front plate with cover removed. There is a yellowed plastic pouch there but of course no papers or cards in it. I am needing to get it registered/titled and have been frustrated in locating the serial number. If any of you are familiar with this engine and markings I would appreciate some help.

Thanks in Advance, and happy boating.

Thought I should update this...

I found the s/n on a nice rugged still shiny metal tag on the front of the steering column horizontal tube. It was partially blocked by the trim wiring harness and tubing and other cabling. Feel kind of dumb not noticing it until now, but that is how my eyes work now, fits of brilliance mixed in with double and triple vision. Had my 16 year old son crawl up into the splash well and read it off to me. The s/n seems to be the correct range for the engine year going by the parts books.
