Help with Floor Question - Link to photos

I'm replacing a large section of a soft floor in my boat. Can I use pressure treated deck lumber in the subfloor? The original stringers are in good shape, but I need something for the plywood to mount to, so I was thinking I would use Heavy Duty liquid nails to glue the deckboards alongside the original stringers. (I don't want to penetrate the stingers with a screw, etc).<br /><br />Is this a real stupid idea? I would call that a reasonable fix.<br /><br />If your boat work is as good as your Photoshop work, it should be ok. <br /><br />Was there no foam below your cutout area? I notice circular holes in the deck before and after your floor cut out. What's with those? Certainly a good place for water to get under the deck.<br /><br />As to your choice of wood and method of attachment, I would use epoxy coated doug fir and screw it and epoxy glue it to your stringers. It isn't going to hurt the stringes to run stainless screws thru them. Just hope that there is enough unrotted meat in them to hold the epoxy and the screws. Just make sure that the stringers are good and dry before you start.

Boomyal,<br /><br />Thank you for the input. I recent finished out my basement, where I learned the power of Liquid Nails... I swear by it. <br /><br />The circular holes in the deck are the drain holes in the boat (see the first couple photos). The middle section of the boat has a drain area, which I'm assuming is used to wash out the main area, drain the front livewell, etc). Each side of the main area (separated by the stringers) has foam, which is nice and dry, thank the lord. <br /><br />I appreciate the feedback on the wood and method of attachment. The supports are fine, a little soft at the very top, but otherwise solid and covered in fiberglass. <br /><br />Thank you again for the feedback and I appreciate any and all help. <br /><br />-Kevin

Another newbie question if you don't mind...<br /><br />Will I run into trouble if I cross-brace using wood, connecting one stringer to another? Put another way, should I be concerned with the possibility of the wood expanding, putting pressure on my stringers?<br /><br />These cross supports should help make the boat real solid (it is already good), and will provide extra support for the plywood floor above. Thoughts?
