Most of the time when I start my boat my fishfinder freezes or goes to a screen with just a bunch of lines on it. I am trying to figure out how to pervent this. I have the gps wired to a fuse block under the helm and that wire is ran back to battery switch and a ground on battery #1. I check all conections and they are tight where to go now.
Thanks
Erik

Have your battery load tested. Meanwhile don't turn the unit on until after you have started the motor.

It does it with both batteries. I wouldnt think I would have two bad batteries? Used one today for about two hours of trolling motor and still started the the motor, but still froze my fishfinder. I try and turn off the unit but sometimes forget when I am getting ready to go to another fishing hole.

It sounds like the system is pulling so much voltage that its dropping it below the finders threshold to operate, I would first go over ever connection on the accessory circuit its hooked into. One of them is bad some where.
