Help with HIN

Hi,

I just got an old aluminum boat. It has a HIN, but it is only 11 characters. Can anyone help with this?

That is actually a serial number which will work for registration. Your boat is obviously a pre 1974

The newer (post 1974) start with 3 letters and then you can look those up on the USCG MIC Database http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic1.aspx
