Help with installing fishfinder!!!

I have a portable Eagle "Suprapro" portable fishfinder. I'm trying to install it in my boat, but dont really want to have to install the portable box.

Can I wire it to my marine battery for power, or should I just suck it up and find somewhere to mount the portable battery box??

12 volts is 12 volts. Doesn't matter where it comes from. Certainly you can hook it to the starting battery or the troller battery -- whichever is handier.
