This bulb (pic below) is the instrument light for the tachometer on my 87 Chris Craft Scorpion 196. I can't read the numbers on the base. Can someone maybe help me out and tell me what kind of bulb this is and any other helpful info?

Thanks!
Chris

Take the bulb to your local auto parts store, I'm sure they can match it up.

Re: Help with instrument light bulb identification

Ugh! No Luck! I went to 4 different auto parts stores, Radio Shack and West Marine and nobody had ANYTHING like it! They didn't know where I would get something like that. Its peculiar because it has these two "ridges" along the side that fit into slots in the socket much like a Bayonette style bulb has the two locking "pins" at the bottom.

I think I've made out that it says 12volt and 2 Watts, but that's all I can read that is stamped on the brass. I wonder who made/makes the tachometers for Chris Craft.

Any other suggestions for someplace that would carry odd-ball light bulbs like this one?

Thanks!
Chris

That's it, Glenn! Awesome! I'm guessing you've been in the same "boat" before!

Thanks so much!
