Help with my 1998 35hp Evinrude

Hello,

I just purchased a 1998 35hp evinrude motor. I have not started it all winter, so I just went out and hooked up a hose to the motor and it started right up, but I never did see any water come out of the pee hole. My question is, does this motor have a thermostat or is my water pump not working?

You should have water coming out, I would pull the lower and check the impeller. also check the pee hole for blockage ie: mud dobbers or spiders nests.

Is the motor overheating? If not, chances are the tell tail is clogged. Take a piece of weed trimmer line and try clearing the hole.
