Hi all, i have just aquired an old herters Quebec 16' fiberglass runabout and heres my little problem. Some of the resin on the interior of the boat is starting to chip and flake off in a few places down to white of the woven glass.
I really love this little boat and i want to keep her goin for many years and i dont want water infiltration into the lamination or anything like that ruining it.
Ive researched a lot lately on fiberglass and boats but im torn on what to coat it with or even if i should be worrying so much about it. Should i coat the interior sides, floor and everything with expensive epoxy resin? or can i get satifactory results with polyester resin? or should i just use a decent paint and give it a few coats and rest easy? Its a trailer boat, and will be on the water no more than a week at a clip. Any opinions would be appreciated! Thanks....Denny
