Have an older prop from a 1971 Merc 800 with the following numbers.

48-32234-17

Can't find any reference to that number. Trying to establish a starting point for the proper prop on the new to me boat. Its a 1970 16ft deep V fiberglass hull and have not had it in the water yet. Would like to find a good general purpose prop. Would seem to me that a 17" pitch is a little low but not sure.

Rpm range is 4,800to5,500.If you run the 17 and get the max rpm and speed
we can help with prop selection.Probably the best way.
Is the prop Al. or SS?
Won't hurt to test above recommended rpm for a short run if necessary.
Be sure your setup is right.Especially vertical height.
Someone should be along with more info.

There is a "sticky" at the top of this forum titled "READ THIS FIRST". Please do so, do your testing, and then post the numbers you recorded. Without that information, like you, we can only guess at what's needed.
