Help with ratio

I know I should know this, I keep reading the ratio is 50:1, what exactly does that mean, a quart to a gallon, a pint, what...

1 pint per 6 gallons of fuel. Or about 2.5 ounces of oil per gallon of gas....

US gallon is 128 ounces. 128/50 = 2.56 ounces per gallon.

6 Gallons X 2.56 oz. = 15.36 ounces, or say 1/2 quart [16 oz.] per 6 Gallon tank.
