i like to do this stuff myself.. i have rebuilt carbs on motorcycles. i guess it couldnt be that different. i was just wondering what everyone soaks there carbs in since you can soak them things that can hurt them. ive heard of gunk..pine sol.. almost everything...

Carb cleaner is available at the parts houses in one gallon cans. Big enough to soak those in.

I like the yamaha carb cleaner, about $14 or so a bottle, it won't hurt any of the plastic. Soak overnight and make sure you clean with gas or brake/contact cleaner, air, before you putem back together and don't forget to reset the throttle plates, check float hieghts...

After you've cleaned all the orifices and jets with carb cleaner use compressed air to blow out the orifices and jets. If you don't have a compressor get a can of air at Radio Shack (used for cleaning computers and electronics). Install the parts in the rebuild kit. Make sure you set the float height and idle mixture screws to manual specs.
