Help with rub rail removal

I'm in the middle of working on a 17' Blue Fine Spectrum F&S boat and need help, recomendations on the best/easiest approach to removing the rub rail. I've taken the end caps off and my difficulty lies in getting the rubber out so that I have access to the rivets. I believe it's bound in a couple places that have dents in in the aluminum.

Once your end caps are off you should be able to get something between the aluminum and the vinyl.
If it's really stuck heat it up with a heat gun and pull.
Once you get a piece free pull it at a little angle...pops right out
