Hello everyone.
I was wondering if someone could help me find the cross reference belt for a Volvo belt # 3860086.
Has anyone used a Gator belt instead of the Volvo belt?
Only reason I am asking, is because I am in a pinch right now. I need to buy a "spare" belt for a trip coming up tomorrow and want to have one just in case something happens to my current belt.
I dont have time to order a VP part and all the local stores here sell them at 3x the price as online.
Thanks for the help!

I just need dimensions of the VP part # or the part number of a belt from a local auto part store.

The following applies to automotive belts. I believe the same logic applies to marine belts.

The part number usually contains the length. For example 950050 would be a 50" long belt. As long as the number of ribs and the length are the same, the belts will work well enough to get you home. IF you're very concerned, either check fitment before your trip or buy one belt the correct length and one each size bigger and smaller as I have found differences between belt manufacturers. One man's 50 is another's 50.5

So any belt with the same number of ribs and same length as your volvo belt should work.

It appears your belt is a 99.86 length. I believe it is 6 ribs. Some list it as 99.7 or 99.5 inches, so as mentioned watch part numbers carefully.

PM me for source info so we don't post links in thread.

Looks like goodyear # 4060995
Napa 25-K060997
Dayco 5060995

Note they all end in -995. Meaning 99.5" inches. If you have a NAPA close by, it looks like theirs is closest to 99.8 OE length.

Thank you MuskyFins!
I bought the Dayco belt yesterday, and have it as a back up now.
Hoepfully I wont need it.
I have not measured it to the OEM belt, but I can do that tonight when I get to the belt. Your info was much help!

Don't mention it. After all the folks who have helped me here, it's nice to pay it forward. Just double check that it will work before you leave on your trip.

Tried the Napa for mine and it's bigger

Yes. The NAPA looks to be 99.7 and the others 99.5. The OE belt spec is 99.86, so the NAPA should be a bit shorter and the other two would be even shorter than that. But as I said, if you take actual measurements, they differ slightly from one brand to the next. The tensioner should be able to take up some of the slack one way or the other. Sometimes, you just have to buy a couple different brands and actually test fit. Hopefully, that's what the OP did. This might require going to a couple of different stores since each store tends to carry a particular brand. Maybe two.
