Help With Switch

I am trying to match up an on off on switch for a 2005 Bayliner. When I looked at the actual switch it was a Carling #0429 DPDT illuminated switch. This is the switch used to turn on my navigation lights in the up position and then turn on my anchor light in the lower position. When I cross reference this switch it is coming up as a momentary on-off-on switch which I feel does not make sense because I want the switch to remain on in either position. Does that make sense. It sounds like this type of switch would be only used as a trim adjustment switch. I need a switch that would remain on in both upper and lower travel stops. Any help would be most welcome at this point unless I am totally wrong in my assumptioms. The back of the switch has 8 lugs.

Re: Help With Switch

You are correct: You don't want a momentary contact switch. Does your switch look like the one here?

Re: Help With Switch

the number doesnt seem correct for the switch you are looking for.

is the switch a toggle (lever type) or a rocker ?
you are looking for a maintained switch on/off/on illuminated (toggle or rocker)

No. It does have 8 lugs and the top of the switch has a long lighted shaft that glows amber when I hold it on in either direction.

Yes it is a toggle with a maintained switch on/off/on illuminated. I did get that number right off of the switch which is obviously wrong.

Re: Help With Switch

Post a picture of your switch, both front and back. The number you found may not be a switch number, but just a piece of the switch.

Re: Help With Switch

Yes, except mine has 8 lugs in the back of the switch. Also, my lighted toggle has a chrome like finish instead of the black finish of the Sierra TG19520.
Thanks

I think that's just a generic picture. The switch with that part number does actually have 8 lugs if you look it up on other sites and the Teleflex site (Sierra must be a division of Teleflex). I've looked a little bit and I can't find one with chrome except for a Carling switch #LT2561-603-012. It appears as though it only has 6 lugs, but I'm not sure how it can be an iluminated DPDT switch with only 6 lugs.
