help with the shifter cable please!!

I have my bell housing off all of the old bellows off the new gimble bearing installed , i cant figure out this shift cable. I disconnected from the motor and pulled it through, but how in the world do you get that end peice off the one that goes into the outdrive. I have the manual its not real clear, please help so I can put my boat back together.

You might post this inthe I/O forum, as it sounds like you have an I/O. You might post year and model.

On the MerCruiser Alpha I models, installing the lower shift cable is a bit tricky, if you have never done it. Of course I am guessing that is what you have!
