help with timing on my old chrysler

I dont know what year my chrysler outboard is.It is model#7573 and ser.#3994.If anyone could help i would appreciate it much.I had to replace the timing belt and thought i knew which marks to line up, but apparantly i was wrong.I have also heard you must use a light is this true.I am new to this and totally lost.Any help would be deeply appreciated.... :confused:

What is the horsepower of the engine and what type of ignition(breaker point or distributor? I am doing the same to my 120 Hp now and i may be able to help.

It is a 75 hp.i think distributer im not sure, i think it is pretty old though.

I have a clymer that has the procedure for the drive belt for the distrubuter. If this is any help I could email you the page. Not sure if you have dynamic timing or static timing. Email me at ralgoetz@aol.com if you want me to email you this. If you have a 70 hp it looks like you have Motorola Electronic Distributer ignition.
