Just got this boat and motor from a friend. The motor was cranking and started getting hung around the flywheel. I got the flywheel off and noticed some of the magnets were destroyed. Can they be replaced? If so, where can I get them and how do fit inside the flywheel? If not, where can I get a reasonably priced replacement?

You will need to find one in a bone yard.

Those parts are prohibitively over priced, as much as $ 400 for new ones. Magnets are non available and extremely well glued to flywheel side.

The only possible way to crack internal magnets wil be hammering hard with a heavy hammer side of flywheel to remove it instead than using an appropriate flywheel puller. Shade tree mechanics like doing so which is a crime. Don't know if a 30A4 flywheel will match exact same as of the 30A3 model ?

If plan staying with that OB better buy a used or inoperative OB and cannibalize the parts that will need. Check if possible to find one at a bargain price. Good Luck!!

Sounds like that’s a good idea. I’ve got a lead from a guy online that might have a flywheel and stator.

Some parts will interchange with newer motors, but alas, the flywheel does not. If the magnets were only coming loose, it might be possible to use very good epoxy to reattach them, but as they are damaged, you are out of luck.
