i know my trim sender is bad i have one in the mail coming this week, i recently replaced my trim pump, motor and hydrolic lines with the updated style with the white plastic reservoir, its works much better, and doesnt leak down, iin my efforts of fixing the old one i found four little swiches on the back of my digital gauge,( the square old style) i messed with those but the reverted back to the settng for the DP outdrive, if those switches were set to a different setting will it alter the function of the trim? and will having a bad pointentiometer not allow the trim to function properly? the guage just reads 63 and flashes a red light, the guage is not bad it is the sender thats faulty but i want to know if having those two issues will it not be functioning properly?

Thanks
Brandon

Just leave the gauge set where it was, It's worked for a lot of years that way, why would you need to change it's settings now.

Replace the sender, that fixes the problem in 99% of the cases.

I have only see 1 of those gauges go bad while working at a Volvo dealer for many years. And it was due to internal corrosion as was about all the instruments on that junky, nasty boat.
