HELP

I just put an impeller on my water pump. Now it won't pump a t all.<br />What holds the impeller stationary on the shaft to keep it from being loose on the shaft.\1997 50hp evinrude

Should be a key. Half fits in the keyway slot in the driveshaft, other half fits in a keyway slot in the impeller.
