I have an 1978 Johnson 115 and I cannot get the motor to go to full power untill I pump the fuel ball. I have replaced all fuel lines, vent lines and fittings along with installing new coils and powerpack. When at WOT it bogs untill I pump the ball (which is hard already) then it picks up untill I stop pumping. I took the fuel pump apart and it visibly looks good. Im going to try installing a line in a gas can just to rule out the tank but it seems to run fine in the yard under no load. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help!

Sorry that you spent so much already, but........

When performance picks up only while pumping the primer bulb then your hand is acting like the fuel pump.

Even if parts look like good the test is will it flow ENOUGH fuel under full load which is the max demand for fuel.

Reving in neutral barely sips any fuel, load requires LOTS of fuel.

Replace the pump and enjoy this season without melting a piston, which is what is going to happen if you keep running it lean while spending a ton of money on parts that you do not need.

Sorry to be rude, but always post questions, NO questions, no answers.
