Im helping a neighbor with his 200 venom that he took the a local shop. I last posted about correct shaft height ,Racer gave me good info on that but the problem was in the lower unit ..bent or broken cradle don't know because the lower unit they sold him had a crack all the way to the bearing carrier o rings so instead of pulling it apart told him to take that back. It has / had a list of problems
1) new shift cable they installed is adjusted all the way out to get reverse and is about 3 ft to long
2) control has no idle up for warm up . you push the detent and handle falls forward but it does not advance throttle .
3) primer solenoid was leaking at the cap around the o ring on the tuner valve
4) Motor is over heating on flushing ears after a new major water pump could be they installed wrong pump . this motor I think calls for 2 different ones
4) motor after starting will go to 1200 to 1400 rpms for about 4-5 seconds then when it tries to return to idle dies.
5 ) fuel water seperator was full of water, they didn't check it when they told him they did.
6 ) They put a steel under size cotter pin in the prop
7) the vacuum line going to the VRO was loose at the valve on the block no clamp or tie wra
Im going over tomorrow to work on it motor is a 200 evinrude venom
Mod # J 200STLETF
