That's a 17" pitch. Yes, it's a good size if it puts the motor in the right rpm band and does what you expect with a reasonable amount of slip. It's not a good size if it doesn't. Very generally speaking I'd think a 17 on a 115 for a 19' boat would be reasonable. If you post the true speed and rpm we can figure the % of slip and see where you're at.
Thanks Dhadley, I never took the boat out in the water yet!!! I was going to buy another one that is stainless!! I guess i should stick with that then!!
Yeah that is true, I just have one prop, the one that is on there!! And i need a spare prop!! With my luck i will take the boat out and the prop will go!!
Well, if it does it wasn't any good for a spare anyway. If it's in bad shape and you just need another one a decent 17 is probably the way to go. Got a few more specific questions / ideas - I'll shoot you an IM.
