I took the trailer into the local garage as I knew it needed new seals ...... grease leaking out of the rear hubs. The trailer ended up geting new bearings, races and seals. The bearing buddy's were in fine shape.
The next project Iis to redo the wiring. It is a 5 wire harness, and the harness coming out of my car is 4 wires. The lights aren't right even after doing different connections. The tires also need replaced. Fortunately, they are 4.80-8's and wally world has new tires for $13.50 each.

I've got one similar to that one, They work well for small light row boats. That tire price, is that online? I just paid $43.00 in the store for that size with wheel.

Does the connector have 4 pins or 5. It is common for 4-pin Y- harnesses to have 5 wires. White is bonded to the trailer, yellow is your running lights (one down each side) and the green and brown are the turn signals /stop lights.

If the pin is a 5-pin, its for a trailer with brakes. The blue wire would then be for the backup brake solenoid

Brown is running lights, green is right turn/ brake and yellow is left...

With that size tires it is not a braked trailer...

If I remember right, those wally world tires are made by a S. Korean company and actually have had a pretty good history, I run a set of them on my utility trailer.

Bonz ...... that is just the tire for $13.50, no rim our mount costs. Scott ....... the female plug harness coming out of my car is 4 wire, including the white wire. The male harness on the trailer has 5 wires, one is white grounded to the trailer. The harness needs replaced as it is old. What is perplexing is when I push on the brakes, the trailer lights go out ........

Make sure it is not an off road wheelbarrow tire for that price.
