Hate to start this up again.... My Crownline is winterized, and I talked to my Boat Tech, for a couple of hours. He has been wrenching on boats for about 30 years. From High performance, fishing, and pleasure boats.. I told him the beating I took for letting a newbie know that letting your outdrive in the up position is ok and safe. As he said, being a expert, and knowing his craft..keeping the drive in "up" position will not hurt the drive as long as it's properly winterized. I know everyone will beat me up. BUT, I bought my boat brand new 7 years ago, winterize, every season and had no bellow problem, no gimble bearing problem, nor prop, nor prop/bullet problem... Some of the responses I got were very rude, and as my tech said, NOT well informed.. 7 years with my boat AND NOT a problem!!!!!!!:D:cool::cool:

As far as I understand it, if you store the boat with the drive up and the cone fills with water and freezes............you're in trouble.

This thread is nothing more than you trying to start an argument. Listen to who you want to and deal with the answers you get on any forum. You don't always get the answers you want, that's just the way it is.

Closed now, before it gets out of hand.
