Never removed and refitted one before so this should be fun! The boat was advertised as "new reconditioned engine just fitted" and this is what happened, unfortunately the seller is not really coming up with any remuneration which in my eyes is as bad as theft.

Anyways it was a 5.7 although I never got the pleasure of experiencing it and yes, it is being replaced with a 5.7 4bbl with vac secondaries... this installed engine is only a 2bbl.

Just an observation but it looked like you were running it with the drive in the trailer position.

The trim gauge doesn't work, is that what you were referring to?

You got me worried, is there something I'm missing or are you talking about the gauge?

No, he is talking about running the engine with the drive "all the way up".

Remember that the primary shaft and the u-joints spins as soon as you start the engine (extension of crankshaft). Never a good idea to "run" with the drive too far up.
Do not know what the exact "angle" that Volvo claims acceptable for the SX drive, but on earlier drives (290, SP), they say "slow running at idle" if drive indicator shows less than "44" and "never run if indicator is above 45" (I guess it is fairly close to "degrees").
