Hesitation

I've got a 95 I/O Merc 3.0 LX that has a strong hesitation around 2200 rpms when cold and not so noticable when warm, but there. I've replaced the plugs, wires, cap, set the timing and its still there.

This hesitation has been there since I purchased the boat and now that I did a complete seal replacement in April I would like to chase this down next.

Thoughts . . . .

Re: Hesitation

My 3.0 did this and it was the accelerator pump in the carb. I rebuilt the carb and problem solved.

Re: Hesitation

Can you pull the accel pump without having to rebuild the carb ? What I mean is it a bolt piece ?

The local dealers got one and tells me its bolt on and I'm willing to do it right now if it is, but if I have to rebuild the carb then I can live with the hesitation until I pull the boat later this fall.

Thanks

I have a 4.3 and it is a bolt on for mine. I would believe it to be on yours too. Do you have a owners manual? I bet it would show you in there. If you don't it is the best 50-70 bucks you can spend. Good luck.

I've got the manual but its with the boat in Maine and I'm in Ct. I run into this problem everytime and I need to remember to tuck the Seloc manual in my car when we come home.
