bondo, the plugs on my manifold are on the side. I think there is more than one, I would use the one closest to the back. Or would it be better to put on an end cap with the nipple?

I'm thinking a Flow that Absolutely covers All of the area to be cooled, would be better,+ more efficent......
Measure your rear block-off plate......
If I've got the right 1 laying around, I'll give it to you....
I know it'll be Easier... Those plugs will come out Hard.....
You'll Still have to remove atleast 1 of them from the Riser....

I agree with you regarding the flow. I will measure the end cap and let you know the deminsions.......thanks for the offer. I am also going to try and find one, I like that idea better, better flow!

Ya,+ while you're there, Checkout Which Plug you need to install a nipple in, on the Riser, to get rid of the Raw Water.......
It looks like you've got Plenty of room......
You Might be able to mount the H/E along-side the exhaust manifold......

"The exchanger I have has a tank and radiator cap."
Are you saying the rad.cap Is mounted to the main H/E tank ????
Or, the rad.cap has it's Own tank ?????

The rad-cap is on a tank attached to the top of the H/E. I am going to mount the H/E on the other side in order to get the height required. I am thinking of "teeing-in" the thermostat bypass to the manifold so there is some flow through the manifold prior to the thermo opening. Or can i ignore the bypass? This would mean that there wouldn't be much of a flow through the manifold until the thermo opens...what do you think?

Now let's talk about hoses/fittings.....should I start another post? This one is getting kinda long........ :)

I think I'd leave the by-pass right where it Is........
Push All of the by-passed water thru the manifold, then from your New fitting on the back of the manifold, to the Hot-side of the H/E....
No Tees.....
Even Before the T-stat Opens, the manifold needs Whatever flow is going by..... Most T-stats don't open all at once.... And, If you Tee it, How would It know which way,+ When to go Where.....

Your Call...... Doesn't Matter At All....
